Casual Home Support Workers

Do you speak more than one language?

Support workers carry out various duties depending on which service/s the client requires, including:

  • General house cleaning (mopping, vacuuming)
  • Kitchen cleaning (dishes, wiping benches)
  • Bathroom cleaning (showers, toilets)
  • General laundry help (putting the washing in or out, hanging washing)
  • Personal care and medication prompt/admin (Certificate III or equivalent only)


  • A First Aid certificate
  • Satisfactory National Police Clearance (obtained in the past six months or willing to obtain)
  • Current driver’s licence and a registered vehicle

To be an Umbrella home support worker you need:

  • A minimum qualification of Certificate III in Aged Care or Community Services.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • To be able to work independently with clients and/or as part of a team.
  • To work within Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • To work in accordance with Umbrella‚Äôs values and mission.
  • Knowledge of diversity, access and equity issues for culturally and linguistically diverse and LGBTIQ+ seniors (preferred).
  • A manual handling certificate (preferred).

Salary: $36.89 – $37.14 per hour (includes 25% loading) with option to salary package up to $15,990, reducing taxable income.
