Event Support Officer

We are looking for an Events Support Officer in our Communications, Engagement and Projects team at our Belmont office.

The role will be a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. It will be a part-time role for three days a week. Office hours are 9am to 5.06pm. An initial six-month probation will apply. Some after hours and weekend work may be required from time to time to assist at events.

Salary: SCHADS Award level 3.1 ($36.00) to level 3.4 ($38.60) per hour depending on experience, plus super.  Option to salary package up to $15,990pa reducing taxable income.

The position is responsible for providing event coordination support to the Communications, Engagement & Projects Manager and the wider Umbrella team.

It assists with all aspects of Umbrella’s involvement in external events and exhibitions. This includes stand bookings; advertising; branded merchandise and promotional material; the preparation of event run sheets and staff rosters; event photography; content for digital media and attendance at events on a time in lieu basis when required (which may be on weekends).

The ideal candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:


    • Appropriate qualification in communications, marketing or related discipline.
    • A minimum of three years’ experience in marketing, communications and/or event coordination.
    • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience in content creation for social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram, as well as scheduling programs such as Meta Business Suite and Hootsuite
    • Experience in taking event photos and videos and editing them using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premier Pro.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel).
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
    • The ability to handle pressure and juggle multiple priorities.


    • Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
    • Knowledge of diversity, access and equity issues for CaLD and LGBTQI+ seniors.
    • Current driver’s licence.
