Human Resources Coordinator

We are looking for a Human Resources Coordinator located at our Belmont offices. Our preference is for a permanent, part-time employee eight days a fortnight.  Office hours are 9am to 5.00pm.  There is flexibility in these working arrangements, but the incumbent must be willing to work every Friday.  The role is subject to a six-month probation.

Salary: Level 5.1 under the SCHADS Awards at $47.50 per hour plus superannuation, with the option to salary package up to $15,990 reducing taxable income.

This position is responsible for assisting with human resource management responsibilities, working closely with the Human Resources Manager, CEO and key management team on matters such as recruitment, employee relations, industrial relations and employment retention.

The successful applicant will ensure that human resource tasks are actioned according to the organisation’s policies and procedures and relevant legislation.


    • Tertiary qualification in human resource management or a related discipline, or at least two years’ experience in human resource management.
    • Experience in recruitment, performance management, grievance resolution, discipline management, induction and orientation processes, worker’s compensation and injury management.
    • Knowledge of and experience in employee relations with an excellent understanding of employment legislation.
    • Knowledge of and experience in workers’ compensation claim management.
    • High level of written and verbal communication skills.
    • Well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.
    • Preparedness to work in accordance with Umbrella’s mission and values.


    1. Knowledge of the aged care not for profit community services sector.
    2. Knowledge of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award and National Employment Standards.
