Social Support Group Worker – Driver

An opportunity has become available to join our growing organisation with an immediate start to undertake social support programs and transport for clients.

Our preference is for a casual employee approximately three days per week who has an LR driver’s licence or is prepared to sit for their HR / LR licence within six months of commencing employment, as you will be required to drive a 21-seater bus.  Also desired is the ability to speak Polish, Macedonian, Russian or any former Yugoslav language due to the number of multicultural clients we have.

Computer literacy is also required.

There is a possibility of permanency in the future.

 Salary: SCHADS Home Care- Aged Care L2 Social Support Worker $36.86-$37.14 per hour (casual rate)

Option to salary package up to $15,990 reducing taxable income

 Responsibilities include:

This position is responsible for the delivery of support services to Umbrella clients.  The duties vary depending on which service/s the client requires.  These may include but are not limited to:

        • Social support / transport – individual client or group activities
        • Social support activities
        • Social support kitchen duties
        • Personal care – toileting, medication management

 The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

        • A First Aid certificate
        • Satisfactory National Police Clearance (obtained in the past 6 months or willingness to obtain)
        • Computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
        • Current LR/HR driver’s licence or able to obtain within 6 months of employment
        •  Qualification in Aged Care Services or Community Services or experience in the aged care sector (preferred)
        • Good written and verbal communication skills
        • Be able to work independently with clients and/or as part of a team
        • Can work within Aged Care Quality Standards
        • Knowledge of diversity, access, and equity issues for culturally and linguistically diverse and LGBTIQ+ seniors (preferred)
        • Manual handling certificate (preferred)
