Aged care for all under one umbrella

Umbrella Multicultural Community Care Services Inc. is funded by the Australian Government to deliver home care services to seniors across the Perth metro area. Our innovation in the delivery of high-quality services to seniors from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds has resulted in us receiving several state and national awards over the years.

In October 2023, Umbrella became a signatory to the joint statement on the rights of LGBTIQ+ seniors in aged care, developed by LGBTIQ+ Health Australia and service providers across Australia.

Read the joint statement here:

We are also funded by the Australian Government to deliver the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme and the care finder program across the Perth metro and Peel regions.

Each year on 20 June, the world celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home countries to escape conflict, death or persecution.

Today is World Refugee Day, which highlights the importance of supporting refugees, recognising their strengths and accomplishments and acknowledging the challenges they face.

The UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency has many ways you can help.

One is to make a donation, which will go straight towards their worldwide field operations. It's an easy process, and you can give however much you want – everything helps.

Another way to help is to raise awareness by joining their social networks or helping to fundraise in your local community.

Interns and UN volunteers are also always needed at their headquarters and elsewhere.

We are funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care to deliver home and social support services across the Perth metro and Peel region to multicultural seniors aged 65 and over.

We are WA's most diverse aged care provider, with over 1,000 clients from 67 different cultural backgrounds.

We also advocate for multicultural and LGBTIQ+ seniors at national and state government level and have an excellent track record in community engagement.

We have just completed the successful Multicultural Village Hub project, funded by the Department of Social Services. We delivered 199 events, workshops, excursions and activities in support of mental and physical wellbeing to almost 500 participants aged 55+ from the Belmont and Bayswater areas.

We also partner with organisations such as Dementia Australia, Health Consumers' Council WA and Legal Aid WA to engage diverse communities in their own languages and in ways that are culturally appropriate.

Client stories

My Mum was so overjoyed and very impressed with the special outing from Seniors Club Cracovia. She hasn’t stopped telling me stories about all the wonderful activities she was able to experience at the Elizabeth Quays opening night. On that day, Perth came to life for my Mum. She will never forget this experience. Thank you for caring for my Mum and all the seniors.
