Multicultural Library

The library offers 3000 books in over 30 languages. It is located at our Support Centre at 39 Abernethy Road, Belmont. Opening hours are:

Monday: 9.30am – 12.30pm
Tuesday: Every first Tuesday of the month from 9:30am – 12:30pm
Thursday: 9.30am – 12.30pm

Currently, the library has books in English, Polish, Spanish, Italian, Czech, German, Dutch, French, Slovak, Hungarian, Danish, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Tamil, Vietnamese, Serbian, Hindi, Serbian, Macedonian, Swedish, Portuguese, Croatian, Indonesian, Russian, Maltese, Ukrainian, Hebrew and Malay.

All clients, staff, volunteers and Board members may use the library and borrow books. Seniors 65 years and over living in the City of Belmont (who are not Umbrella clients) may also join the library and borrow books. They need to:

● Complete a registration form
● Pay a $5 membership fee
● Show a driver’s license or other identity document.

Seniors living outside the City of Belmont may also use the library during opening hours, but do not have borrowing rights.
