CaLD cancer information

The Department of Health and Ageing released a report earlier this year identifying a lack of cancer information resources for culturally and linguistically diverse clients and carers.

The Department is now funding the development of a series of five cancer checklists for different stages of the cancer journey. These are diagnosis; prognosis; treatment; side-effects and follow-up care.

These checklists will be translated into six languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Italian, and Arabic. Animated videos will also be developed to help support client and carer understanding.

Umbrella Inc is proud to be participating in the development of these multilingual resources in partnership with the Department of Health, the Cancer Network, the Health Consumers’ Council and Cancer Council WA.
