Who do we care for

Umbrella Inc. is a multi-award-winning, not for profit organisation that delivers Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), Home Care Packages (HCP) and Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) to over 800 clients from 67 different countries including seniors from LGBTI backgrounds and we are also part of the Aged Care System Navigator Trials. We recognise each client’s specific needs and acknowledge gender, age, religious, interest and cultural background. We match support staff with each client so a client can receive high-quality care from the same staff member every time.

At Umbrella, our clients and staff speak dozens of different languages. Nevertheless, the one language that everyone understands is English.

Umbrella runs culturally specific groups where a language other than English is spoken. However, for the main events and outings, English conversations are the norm. In fact, Umbrella’s second biggest client group are the English-speaking seniors as they enjoy the multicultural flavor with lots of dance, food, music and laughter.

Anyone with a valid assessment from the Regional Assessment Teams or the Aged Care Assessment Teams is eligible to use our services. There is a minimal fee that clients have to pay in addition to their government subsidy. As we believe in transparency every step of the way, all fees are fully disclosed and negotiated for all Commonwealth Home Support Program & Home Care Package clients upfront.

Client stories

My Mother of ninety years old who has dementia joined Umbrella 3 years ago and was quiet and shy in the beginning. Since has never looked back the difference it makes to her week and in turn her family is phenomenal! Her short term memory is poor but these outings are one of the few things she always remembers! Mum always returns in a very upbeat mood and the beautiful animated look on her face after a trip is priceless. The staff are so helpful, caring and treat Mum as though it is their own Mum. I have nothing but heartfelt thanks for Robert & The Umbrella Team.
