Looking for a Volunteer Visitor to Support You?

If you’re feeling lonely or socially isolated, Umbrella Community Care can connect you with a caring volunteer visitor through the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), a free service funded by the Australian Government and supported by Volunteering WA.

“Having a volunteer visitor from Umbrella has made such a difference in my life. I look forward to our fortnightly visits where we share stories and enjoy time together. It’s helped me feel connected and valued again.”

— Mary T., Perth

How ACVVS works.

The ACVVS is specifically designed for seniors from multicultural, multilingual, multi-faith, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds in the Perth metropolitan and Peel regions, who may be at risk of social isolation. You will be matched with a volunteer who shares your language, culture, or interests, to provide companionship through regular visits.

To take part, you need to be receiving a home care package or living in a residential aged care facility. Volunteers visit for one hour every fortnight, offering reliable social connection and support in your home or care facility.
